Story continued from Swan Dragon.
After the Swan Dragon flew away, the Cool Scholarly Duck thought to himself ‘Good Riddance.’ As much as he didn’t want to think about her, the Swan Dragon, he found himself thinking about her all the time. He even found himself talking about her - to his horror. ‘I have to get ahold of myself.’ So he went back to his usual system of pushing her out of his mind. Her. The Swan Dragon. From time to time he catches himself remembering some special thing from their past. About her. The Swan Dragon. He immediately pushes her back out of his mind and finds a fellow male duck or cute girl duck to distract himself with. Then finds himself talking to them about the Swan Who Shall Not Be Named. All of his friends listened and gave encouraging words. Each of them felt a strange sense of jealousy towards the Swan Dragon they had never met, but took up so much of the Scholarly Duck’s attention. And they were each too polite to tell him to shut the fuck up.
Which was something he wanted to do very much.
One morning, after taking a shower, the Scholarly Duck automatically reaches for the paint and begins painting his feathers Duck Colors (brown, grey, green, and blue). He catches himself in the mirror, stops, and just stares at his reflection. He looks into his eyes first. They are Blue and slanted (almond shape). He flicks his eyes towards the rest of his face. White feathers. He chews on his lip. A non-duck color. His natural color. He closes his eyes and just rests his head against the mirror. He’s not sure he can keep looking. After a few beats he pulls in the courage to look back into the mirror. He looks at his entire self. He begins by looking at the paint that is dripping down his front and drying in some areas. His eyes trace the single wing where he had begun applying blue and brown coloring. And with effort - he looks at the completely White coloring of the rest of his body. White feathers. Everywhere. Completely. He catches sight of his face again. He looks slightly frightened. He immediately wipes that look off of his face and replaces it with complete calm and total composure. “This can all be explained.” He says confidently to himself. A quick and bright word flashes through his mind before he can stop it. SWAN. “And I will explain it all to myself at a later time. Right now I have better things to do.” So for the rest of the morning he paints himself with complete serenity. He practices some meditation (repeating the word ‘Duck’ over and over again) and goes about his daily routine. Seamlessly, the Scholarly Duck becomes the Hip Hippie Duck when meets up with his friends. This guy has many Duck Faces as you can see (Cool/Scholarly/Hippie), including a very secret Swan face. That only the Swan Dragon can see.

That night he dreams about the Swan Dragon. The dream begins with the Pretty Swan kissing his face. He is saying “I love you. I will always love you.” She giggles and asks, “You promise?” “Yeah.” He says, then looks at her seriously. “Do you promise to love me?” She smiles and turns away from him. Is walking away. “Maybe!” she says and giggles.
Then...suddenly the dream turns dark and scary. The Pretty Swan Dragon is no longer giggling adorably - but is laughing maniacally. Her pretty amber eyes are flashing with Red Flames! She rears back and blasts him with her Scorching FIRE! Oh the Agony! He cries out. He looks at her one last time with his innocent, trusting eyes. Love in his eyes. “But...my love..” the words slip out and just hang there. Then swiftly his eyes change. They look at her with Hatred, Disgust, and Distrust.
The dream shifts. He is the one enraged! Incensed. His beak is sharpened and he’s ready to strike! Hatred in his eyes. He faces his opponent, his enemy - they are both equally matched for the fight. His beak grows as long and sharp as a Dagger. He focuses on his adversary. The Pretty Swan is small next to him, frightened and quivering. Her large amber eyes are looking up at him - wide with fear and confusion. She pleads, “No! Handsome Swan, what’s wrong?!” She’s desperate. She looks so innocent and pretty. For a moment he wants to rush towards her and say, “I’m sorry! Really! I will protect you instead.” He wants to sing to her. But he can’t bring himself to do it. He. Can’t. Trust. Her. His eyes narrow with mistrust. He rears back - getting ready to attack, then abruptly turns away. He is hard. He’s cold. He feels nothing for her.
The Scholarly Duck wakes up in a cold sweat. He thinks about her. The Swan Dragon.

Remember the story of The Ugly Duckling?
Many people misinterpret this story. Many think the story is about being ugly and magically becoming beautiful. Many try to apply this inappropriate logic to their lives. Hoping beyond hope, that they will one day transform into something better than they are. They miss the true point of this story. The most important part of this story is that the ugly duckling is not a duck. It is a swan that hatched from within a duck's nest. It wasn't ugly and then turned beautiful. It was always beautiful. It wasn't a duck who then turned into a swan. It was always a swan. It just needed to realize this. Once the little swan realized that it was literally a completely different bird, all its duck problems went away. It could be itself freely. It found that it wasn’t ugly after all. It was actually beautiful the whole time! The story is about finding who you really are.
That is the point of this Blog. It's to help you realize that you are already a Beautiful Swan. In order to do that, you must first understand that You Are Not A Duck!
