This story is continued from Swan Dragon part 2
The Scholarly Duck gets up in the morning with a brand new positive outlook. He is ready to accept that the Swan Dragon’s attention is flattering but very inappropriate. She, of course, does not know him and certainly cannot tell him who he is. Just to prove it, he decides to skip the morning paint. To prove a point.
With the confidence of a Demigod and a flare for the dramatic - opens the door and steps onto the porch. He looks around with pride. Smiles to himself. He preens a little bit. Fluffs up his feathers (imagining he looks big and strong). Full of self-satisfaction, and with a cool, calm and collected disposition - he lifts a foot as if to step off the porch and nonchalantly steps back inside. With the aura of pleasant purposefulness, he paints himself in all male duck colors (browns, grays, and greens), steps out of the house and goes about his day.
That night he dreams about the Swan Dragon again.
The dream begins with the Handsome Swan (aka. Scholarly Duck) strutting around with the uber confidence of the most Macho Male Bird around. “I too am a Swan Dragon. Where is my Beautiful Swan Queen?” His feathers bore the colors of his Beautiful female Swan Dragon. Midnight Black. His head, neck, back, tail and wings were interlaced with designs of iridescent, electric, and metallic colors of Gold, Red and Orange. “I will woo her with my song and she will answer my Swan Call.” He set out to find her.
The dreams shifts. He is perched afar and is spying on his Beautiful Swan Dragon Queen. She is living in a stunning, sparkly lake all to herself. Actually, it is her who is stunning. He watches as she dives regally into the water and then burst out - all colorful feathers and gorgeous beak. She seems a bit distracted. Occasionally she looks around as if searching for someone. She appears lonely. However, any sadness she may show is overshadowed by her sweet elegance and ethereal movements. He could sit all day and watch her glide across the lake.
She steps ashore and sunbathes. Finally his chance! He swoops down from his perch, flies low and stops behind a small hill. He means to surprise her.
The Beautiful Swan Dragon is lounging in front of a low hill. She is pondering her Destiny. Suddenly, a Huge Swan bursts into the air above the hill! Startled, she looks up and sees...the most Magnificent Black Swan soaring above her. “Swan Dragon” she whispers.
The Handsome Swan Dragon is high above his Beautiful, Elegant, Fantastic and Radiant Swan Queen. His gigantic wings are spread out on either side of him. The Largest Creature in the whole sky! Everything happens in slow motion as dreams often do. He sees the look of graceful fear in the Pretty Swan’s amber eyes. The look quickly shifts from graceful fear to amazement and finally attraction. “Swan Dragon” he hears her whisper.
At the epitome of his flight, the highest peak and with the most confidence, Handsome Swan Dragon is gazing down at the Beautiful Swan when he catches a glimpse of himself reflected in the lake. His feathers are stark White! He falters, only momentarily. He looks down at himself and sees that his feathers are still Midnight Black - like his Beautiful Swan. He swoops down and gracefully takes her up in his arms. She dips her head shyly but looks up at him with her gentle amber eyes. She is smiling.
Before his eyes he sees that his feathers are changing color. Startled, he jumps back and they both watch as his Black coloring shrinks back and melds into the designs on his back. Within in a few moments he goes from a Black Swan with highlights of Gold, Red and Orange, to a White Swan accented with electric Blue, Orange and Silver feathers. He steps back uncertainly. He looks at her and asks, “Am I enough?” She is still smiling at him. She says, “I love you as you are. You are my Swan Dragon.” So the two Swan Dragons set off into the Pink Sunset.
The Scholarly Duck wakes up. It may be his imagination but he thinks he sees faint interlaced colors of Blue, Orange and Silver designs on the back of his White wings. He lays there and ponders his Destiny.

Remember the story of The Ugly Duckling?
Many people misinterpret this story. Many think the story is about being ugly and magically becoming beautiful. Many try to apply this inappropriate logic to their lives. Hoping beyond hope, that they will one day transform into something better than they are. They miss the true point of this story. The most important part of this story is that the ugly duckling is not a duck. It is a swan that hatched from within a duck's nest. It wasn't ugly and then turned beautiful. It was always beautiful. It wasn't a duck who then turned into a swan. It was always a swan. It just needed to realize this. Once the little swan realized that it was literally a completely different bird, all its duck problems went away. It could be itself freely. It found that it wasn’t ugly after all. It was actually beautiful the whole time! The story is about finding who you really are.
That is the point of this Blog. It's to help you realize that you are already a Beautiful Swan. In order to do that, you must first understand that You Are Not A Duck!
